I thirst deeply for you
bring your presence fast upon me
your face, your glory
I die without it

I thirst as to death
and dryness stiffens me
give my to drink of your spirit
light fades from my eyes
I need your touch

Come like the dawn
lighten darkness to grey
then grow colour and light
until the world is filled

Come like a shower
from a cloudless sky
gently stealing the parchedness
gently refreshing the air

Come like the wind
that makes the trees praise
and whispers the chimes
strung from the branches

Come like the snow
which blankets the world in the night
so the morning is clean
and the sound is silenced

In awe of your way
let me drink you in
let me thirst no longer
let me be revived
make my heart your kingdom
and my passion your throne
make your love my heart
and your heart my realm
