At the end of His love || 2009.08.29

200090829
at the end of His love

At the end of His love
there is the end of freedom.
At the end of His love
there is death for everyone.
At the end of His love
is hopelessness without bottom.

At the end of His love
all truth is gone.
For His love is truth
and all that is true.
With all that I am
I know He loves you.

Whatever comes,
His love never ends.
It is not to point at you
it's not to go _to_ you.
It is love to enfold you,
it is love to cover you.
To the layers that when you reach out,
the touch of your hand
is the touch of His love.

His love is perfect full freedom
His love is the power for life
His love is hope
that exceeds circumstances and bounds.

His love is life,
and life is his willingness.
His wrath is a moment,
but His love is forever.

Sorrow lives,
and makes night its warm home
but the sun rises faithfully
each day by His love.

The only love I possess
by Him it is authored,
So my love for Him
is His love through me.
And His love through me
is His love around me,
And His love around me
desires to enfold me,
so that when i reach out,
His love reaches out.

Let my life be His,
for His love is mine,
and mine is in Him.
Let His life be mine,
for i desire to take it to me.
Let me love Him
so strongly
that it is mine.
Let me hope in Him,
my life be lived that all can see
the salvation made free
by love poured out.

deux ex mechina || 20090826

3:47 AM 8/26/2009
-deux ex mechina-

who will bow down
to the god that we made
an image as gold
[but not really gold,
as we quit that before]
towering too high

will it be found in the morning
facedown on the floor
laid down and broken
with head and hands at the door
unable to save

so who won't bow down
to the god that we made
the hour grows near
and the flames reach new heights

should we find ourselves
in the midst of the flames
we will walk in the fire
and praise God
and bless the Lord

whose name is worthy
to be praised and glorified
for evermore

for You, God are righteous in all things
true in all works
right in all ways
and all Your judgments are truth

[dan3v28+ apocryphitic kjv]
(3:28) In all the things that thou hast brought upon
us, and upon the holy city of our fathers, even
Jerusalem, thou hast executed true judgment: for
according to truth and judgment didst thou bring all
these things upon us because of our sins.
(3:29) For we have sinned and committed iniquity,
departing from thee.
(3:30) In all things have we trespassed, and not
obeyed thy commandments, nor kept them, neither done
as thou hast commanded us, that it might go well with
us.
(3:31) Wherefore all that thou hast brought upon us,
and every thing that thou hast done to us, thou hast
done in true judgment.
(3:32) And thou didst deliver us into the hands of
lawless enemies, most hateful forsakers of God, and
to an unjust king, and the most wicked in all the
world.
(3:33) And now we cannot open our mouths, we are
become a shame and reproach to thy servants; and to
them that worship thee.
(3:34) Yet deliver us not up wholly, for thy name's
sake, neither disannul thou thy covenant:
(3:35) And cause not thy mercy to depart from us, for
thy beloved Abraham's sake, for thy servant Issac's
sake, and for thy holy Israel's sake;
(3:36) To whom thou hast spoken and promised, that
thou wouldest multiply their seed as the stars of
heaven, and as the sand that lieth upon the seashore.
(3:37) For we, O Lord, are become less than any
nation, and be kept under this day in all the world
because of our sins.
(3:38) Neither is there at this time prince, or
prophet, or leader, or burnt offering, or sacrifice,
or oblation, or incense, or place to sacrifice before
thee, and to find mercy.
(3:39) Nevertheless in a contrite heart and an humble
spirit let us be accepted.
(3:40) Like as in the burnt offerings of rams and
bullocks, and like as in ten thousands of fat lambs:
so let our sacrifice be in thy sight this day, and
grant that we may wholly go after thee: for they
shall not be confounded that put their trust in thee.
(3:41) And now we follow thee with all our heart, we
fear thee, and seek thy face.
(3:42) Put us not to shame: but deal with us after
thy lovingkindness, and according to the multitude of
thy mercies.
(3:43) Deliver us also according to thy marvellous
works, and give glory to thy name, O Lord: and let
all them that do thy servants hurt be ashamed;
(3:44) And let them be confounded in all their power
and might, and let their strength be broken;
(3:45) And let them know that thou art God, the only
God, and glorious over the whole world.
(3:46) And the king's servants, that put them in,
ceased not to make the oven hot with rosin, pitch,
tow, and small wood;
(3:47) So that the flame streamed forth above the
furnace forty and nine cubits.
(3:48) And it passed through, and burned those
Chaldeans it found about the furnace.
(3:49) But the angel of the Lord came down into the
oven together with Azarias and his fellows, and smote
the flame of the fire out of the oven;
(3:50) And made the midst of the furnace as it had
been a moist whistling wind, so that the fire touched
them not at all, neither hurt nor troubled them.
(3:51) Then the three, as out of one mouth, praised,
glorified, and blessed, God in the furnace, saying,
(3:52) Blessed art thou, O Lord God of our fathers:
and to be praised and exalted above all for ever.
(3:53) And blessed is thy glorious and holy name: and
to be praised and exalted above all for ever.
(3:54) Blessed art thou in the temple of thine holy
glory: and to be praised and glorified above all for
ever.
(3:55) Blessed art thou that beholdest the depths,
and sittest upon the cherubims: and to be praised and
exalted above all for ever.
(3:56) Blessed art thou on the glorious throne of thy
kingdom: and to be praised and glorified above all
for ever.
(3:57) Blessed art thou in the firmament of heaven:
and above all to be praised and glorified for ever.
(3:58) O all ye works of the Lord, bless ye the Lord
: praise and exalt him above all for ever,
(3:59) O ye heavens, bless ye the Lord : praise and
exalt him above all for ever.
(3:60) O ye angels of the Lord, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:61) O all ye waters that be above the heaven,
bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for
ever.
(3:62) O all ye powers of the Lord, bless ye the
Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:63) O ye sun and moon, bless ye the Lord: praise
and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:64) O ye stars of heaven, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:65) O every shower and dew, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:66) O all ye winds, bless ye the Lord: praise and
exalt him above all for ever,
(3:67) O ye fire and heat, bless ye the Lord: praise
and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:68) O ye winter and summer, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:69) O ye dews and storms of snow, bless ye the
Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:70) O ye nights and days, bless ye the Lord: bless
and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:71) O ye light and darkness, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:72) O ye ice and cold, bless ye the Lord: praise
and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:73) O ye frost and snow, bless ye the Lord: praise
and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:74) O ye lightnings and clouds, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:75) O let the earth bless the Lord: praise and
exalt him above all for ever.
(3:76) O ye mountains and little hills, bless ye the
Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:77) O all ye things that grow in the earth, bless
ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:78) O ye mountains, bless ye the Lord: Praise and
exalt him above all for ever.
(3:79) O ye seas and rivers, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:80) O ye whales, and all that move in the waters,
bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for
ever.
(3:81) O all ye fowls of the air, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:82) O all ye beasts and cattle, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:83) O ye children of men, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:84) O Israel, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt
him above all for ever.
(3:85) O ye priests of the Lord, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:86) O ye servants of the Lord, bless ye the Lord:
praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:87) O ye spirits and souls of the righteous, bless
ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:88) O ye holy and humble men of heart, bless ye
the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever.
(3:89) O Ananias, Azarias, and Misael, bless ye the
Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever: far he
hath delivered us from hell, and saved us from the
hand of death, and delivered us out of the midst of
the furnace and burning flame: even out of the midst
of the fire hath he delivered us.
(3:90) O give thanks unto the Lord, because he is
gracious: for his mercy endureth for ever.
(3:91) O all ye that worship the Lord, bless the God
of gods, praise him, and give him thanks: for his
mercy endureth for ever.
Dan 3:24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied,
and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his
counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the
midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the
king, True, O king.
Dan 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men
loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they
have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the
Son of God.

His Mark Remains || 2009.08.19

20090819
His mark remains

If we were each but a mote of dust
in the fingerprint of the Almighty's hand,
how glorious would that be?
But we're not.
Look around -
we are the fingerprint of God.
To this world we are His mark,
the sign of His love among us.
We are the touch that lingers,
that smudges in the shape
of Love's next clasp.
Do you see He loves you?
His touch marked everywhere!
The lines of your face,
the step of your gait,
His presence, can you feel it?
He loves you,
Can't you see it?
Let Him be your identity,
your remembrance.
Like a fire to be taken,
whose place will not die out
but spreads.
And each mark stands on:
His mark remains,
we live.

Voice Cry Out || 2009.08.18

20090818
voice cry out

Upon what fearsome note
does the voice of a stone call forth?
And how unjust
the iniquity of blood and of soul
to convoke such an a-respired cry?
Stop not your voice,
let none hold their peace!
What praises come from death?
and what silence opposes it?
Who stands as the champion of the dead?
There is nothing, no place
and no-one with the way to overwhelm us!
Let God rise up, and lift up His right hand!
Cry out your voice in praise!
Cry out for the rocks and the trees,
cry out for all creation who was fashioned without voice!
Let all breath praise Him,
and let all that is resound!
Let the stars of heaven shiver,
let the earth beneath us quake,
let creation swallow awe,
let morning be woken in its home
and the doors of heaven shake!

For I know the One
who wove the stars of the sky,
I have touched the hand
who laid the cornerstone of this earth.
I feel the One by whose way light is parted
and wind scatters over the earth.
I know His heart, who makes the rain,
and numbers clouds by His wisdom.
Praise be to Him
who can silence the earth before Him,
and hearts be poured out in worship.
For He is...
And He is our King.
There is none other,
and none can take His place.

I cannot gain enough || 2009.08.09

20090809
i cannot gain enough

You can't be satisfied with where you are - God deserves way more than that. Just like athletes who continue to train will always break a record, always surpass the mark that was highest, God draws us so we must press in. Eternally we were made to be more than this. If the relationship we know with God has reached the maximum apex of human experience, remember you were created for more. The bible tells of dreams, of visions, of visitations by angels, even of men who have seen God with their own eyes, all recognizably within the scope of human experience; but the Bible also tells of more. It records a one man who walked with God and was not. What human experience is this? To go with, to know and not to be? This is beyond limitation, outside of human experience. It is the abandonment of reason, exchanged for the grasp of purpose: the embrace of unending encounter chosen above experience that is gone in a moment.

I want to know God, but knowing can not be enough. I want to see God, but how long can I look if I dare not blink? I want to feel God's heart, even though its depth would end me. And how much of His voice can I take before its thundering will drown me? God, pull me up from my humanity and draw me into you. Teach me how to walk with you, constantly and completely. That you would be my point, and that even at distraction all of my existence would formulate thoughts which haunt of you. Let all my turning, my rising and my falling, my needs, my gains and my growing - let even my passing from this life be in the steps of you. Let me stand still, for surely let me speak, let my thoughts possess no secrets and my words encompass all. Let me be more than your friend - make me to be your constant companion, and your traveller on every step. God make me yours, for I cannot gain enough.

Mark me Yours || 2009.08.06

20090806
mark me yours

God, mark me as yours -
let me be known by your name.
Associate my appearance to you
that there could be no mistake
for whose breath I live.
Let my heart rise
and fall by your emotion.
Open my eyes to see
what your heart feels,
and tune my ears to your praise
that the earth deeply burns to offer.

Let light illuminate and darkness dispel
and chaos evaporate
and let all heaven tell of your wonders
Stand the universe up in awe
and at every response let the elders bow down
May all thrones be emptied
all crowns strewn to your feet
the atmosphere cries Worthy as all voices join
My King, mark me
to be yours, mark me yours
and let all creation see.

Broken Gathered || 2009.08.01

20090801

He was broken beyond recognition
and He still recognized me.

And now I see His presence
and His pieces move toward together.

They catch things,
and turn them to Him.

I am also captured.
I start to see His face

as part of Him draws me.
Then more of Him draws me.

His hands pull me
as wonder captivates me.

I run now, faster than His pull.
I have escaped His grasp
to fly forward in His love.

His pieces are no compulsion
for I must have Him all.

I cannot find Him fast enough
by my earnest lightning surrounds me!

I hear His voice!
It is a storm above my own.

There exists no bounds
our tempest may contain

Beyond myself I desire Him,
zealous is His desire toward me.

Fervor beckons and won't be denied:
I do find Him. By love's triumph is He to me
more than the greatest passion
of all I can offer of life -
mine to Him.
